Cisco Linksys – Smart Wi-Fi Routers

Smart Wi-Fi routers are the trending technology because we are moving from traditional Wired Communication to Wireless communication and because of the advantages in Wireless communications- many organizations are trying to make the most use of it and integrate all such features which might make the user feel more comfortable.

Smart Wi-Fi – the name says it all, it has several other capabilities from just being a Wireless Router to connect to various Devices. The routers offer new tools for home network monitoring and control, and new mobile apps for anytime, anywhere remote access of files, photos, videos, music and more.

1

Easier Management and Setup

To make home networks easier for consumers to monitor and control, Linksys is also introducing a smart network map, a new Smart Wi-Fi tool that will be free for new Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers. The smart network map displays a visual representation of the home network and all of the connected devices to give users valuable information about network connectivity and current bandwidth usage so they can easily control devices, resolve issues, and get the most out of their home network.

To further simplify setup, Linksys’ new Smart Wi-Fi Routers can be installed from most tablets and smartphones or from a browser on a PC, without the need for a setup CD. Consumers simply connect to the router with their computer, tablet or smartphone, and then follow the simple set-up wizard to complete the installation. An optional Linksys Smart Wi-Fi account can be created following the set-up process to provide easy control of the home network, including settings, connected devices and Smart Wi-Fi tools on virtually any device, anytime, anywhere.

Simple Tap with NFC capability

To simplify connecting devices to the network, SimpleTap™ is now available with all Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Routers. SimpleTap simplifies the process of connecting devices to a home network, making it as easy as one touch of a button or a quick tap of a card. With SimpleTap, users can take advantage of Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) in a number of ways such as using the NFC card shipping with all 802.11ac enabled Smart Wi-Fi routers, pushing the physical WPS button on a router or pushing the WPS button in the router’s browser or app interface.

Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Apps

Among the apps coming for Linksys Smart Wi-Fi are a several that will take advantage of the platform’s new ability to remotely access storage connected to the router. Four of the apps using this new capability are expected to be available in the spring.

D-Link Portable Wireless 3G Router

We heard of Routers which we connect at our home or office to enjoy the internet on Air, in such routers we basically connect our wired Lan – RJ 45 pin to it and the router creates a Wireless field in the vicinity. But what if you wanted to connect your wireless devices like Laptops, Tablets, Smart Phones etc.,  to the internet and you do not have a common point to connect these three devices as you are not at your home or office.

The Solution to the above problem is using a Portable Wireless 3G Router which uses a 3G Sim to connect to the internet and provides a wireless field. D-Link has released a set of devices which use this functionality.

D-Link has launched a trio of portable Wi-Fi consumer devices for India which enable users to harness the 3G networks of their mobile phone to set up ad hoc wireless networks for their gaming devices, e-book readers, netbooks, notebooks, digital cameras – even pocket printers — that are increasingly wireless –friendly. You may no longer have to depend on the costly broadband connections that hotels provide – and if free public WiFi networks are available, you can use these devices to fuel multiple platforms. All of them are 3G friendly which means the fastest connections you can get today while on the move.

DONGLE – How Does It Work ?

Many of us might have old desktops at home which we will be using for watching movies, playing songs and working on some low end applications. Because our Old Desktops configuration probably would be a Intel p4 or a Intel Pentium D or an older version of AMD, also that the RAM would be around typically 512MB.

But still we use them for our daily use because the resale value of them in the market is very less as Electronic Devices are growing very fast and we are able to get high end devices at a lower cost so who wants to buy an Old Desktop PC. Now-a-days many of us are using Wi-Fi at home and because our Old PC’s typically don’t have a wireless capability built into it, we face difficulty to connect our Mobile Devices, laptops to our Desktop PC. Come’On guys Wireless Connectivity is the new trend, so i would like to introduce you to a device which would solve this problem .

Everyone wants to owe a smart phone especially to play games, many want to log on to their fb account and get the updates regularly….

IPAD 3

The new iPad, the iPad 3, the new iPad 3… call it what you want, but it’s a device that from the outside looks remarkably like the iPad 2 but with an overhaul on the innards.
The question most people ask us when it comes to the new iPad is: what’s different from the old one?
Well, in this case it’s pretty easy: there’s a Retina Display that makes everything looks superbly crisp, an updated A5X processor bringing quad-core graphics and a 5MP camera on the rear with a VGA sensor on the front.
Oh, and the iPad 3 is also the device that brings iOS 5.1 to the masses.

Retina Display

Before we get onto all the normal insight over the frame of the new iPad, it’s worth talking about the main feature: the Retina Display.

Apple has packed a huge amount more pixels into the 9.7-inch screen – 1536 x 2048 to be exact. However, despite the fact that the Cupertino brand makes a big thing about the 330 PPI density of the iPhone 4, we’re looking at a screen that’s technically a lot less sharp than its smartphone brethren – around 264PPI.

Key features

  • 9.7″ LED-backlit IPS LCD touchscreen, 2048 x 1536 pixels; scratch-resistant, oleophobic coating
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity, carrier-dependent hotspot support
  • Optional LTE connectivity (data only)
  • Optional GPS with A-GPS support (for the 3G model only)
  • Apple A5X SoC with 1 GHz dual-core ARM Cortex A9 processor
  • PowerVR SGX543MP4 quad-core GPU
  • 1GB RAM
  • iOS 5.1 with iCloud support and activation
  • 16/32/64GB of inbuilt storage
  • Weight of 652 grams (662 grams for the LTE version)
  • Bluetooth 4.0
  • 11,560 mAh battery
  • Accelerometer, compass and three-axis gyro-sensor
  • Compatible with every iPad and iPhone app without any modifications
  • The cheapest version costs less than a SIM-free iPhone
  • 5MP auto-focus camera
  • 1080p video recording at 30fps
  • VGA secondary camera capable of FaceTime calls
  • Four and five-finger gestures
  • 1080p TV-output with the Apple Digital AV Adapter (purchased separately for $39), 720p video streaming
  • Supports magnetic cases

BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited) on collaboration with Noida-based company Pantel Technologies, has launched three tablets which  includes one 7-inch screen tablet with resistive screen and it runs on Android 2.3 operating system, while the second comes with 7-inch screen and the third tablet comes with an 8-inch screen, both of which are capacitive but with a higher price.

These tablets are designed keeping in mind the students need, the tablet come with a promotional offer of 3 month free data download. BSNL is also giving 2G SIM along with all the tablets.

Developed by the Noida based company – Pantel technologies. The tablet will be sold at data plans from BSNL at reduced cost. The cost of these tablet will be Rs 3250, Rs 10,999 and Rs 13,500.

Three tablets are:

  • Penta TPAD IS701R
  • Penta TPAD WS704C
  • Penta TPAD WS804C

The cheapest of all three  is Penta T-pad IS 701R  which will cost  Rs 3250, giving a tough competition to Aakash which is priced at just Rs 2500. However, T-pad has better specifications of the tablet, than the DataWind low cost tablet Aakash. We think that this BSNL tablet will appeal a lot students as the technical specification out-weight both the Aakash tablets.

Penta T-Pad IS 701R is a tablet with Wi-Fi only (no SIM card slot, but you can attach 2G/3G USB modem via the USB port) and Android 2.3 (Ginger Bread) operating system. It has a 1 GHz processor (ARM11 IMAP210) combined with 256 MB of DDR2 RAM. This entry level tablet from Pantel is 3-times as fast than the first Aakash and 300MHz faster than Aakash2 (Ubislate7), theoretically.

The tablet also offers HDMI port through which it can be connected to an HDTV. Its 7-inch resistive touchscreen comes with a 800×600 resolution (which looks great on 7-inch screens) and 16:9 ratio wide-screen display.

The tablet also comes with gravity sensor (G-sensor) which can orient the display in portrait and landscape when turned and also aids in motion gaming, something that was missing in Aakash.

Penta T-pad IS 701R has a battery rating of 3000mAh, which is expected to last for about 5-5:30 hours of video watching, which is certainly not bad considering laptops too give that much of battery life.

The internal memory is 2GB, but it can be extended via microSD cards upto 32GB.

It also has a front-facing 0.3MP camera for video chat and one standard USB port to accommodate pen-drives or other USB devices along with support for USB modems/net dongle, so that you can surf the internet, talk on Skype, watch YouTube videos, read e-books and open PDF files too.

For more details, call Pantel Customer Service at 1800 103 7739 (Mon to Sat, 9 am to 6 pm).

Differences between Aakash and Penta Tablets

UbiSlate will be powered by Android 2.3 and will have a resistive touchscreen, Cortex A8-700 MHzprocessor and graphics accelerator, an HD video processor, 256 MB of RAM and 2 GB of internal memory. Besides, it will have one standard USB port, a 3.5 mm audio jack, a 7 inch display with 800 x 480 pixel resolution, GPRS, and WiFi support.

The 7 inch Aakash tablet has Android 2.2 operating system, an Arm 11 366 MHz processor, a 2100 mAh battery, WiFi, and support for a 3G modem. UbiSlate7+ has the same specifications as UbiSlate except for the additional SIM and phone functionality.

On the other hand, Penta IS701R is a WiFi-only tablet with Android 2.3 operating system, a 1 GHzprocessor and 256 MB of RAM. The tablet has an HDMI port through which it can be connected to a TV. Its 7 inch resistive touchscreen has 800 x 600 pixel resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio.

The tablet has a 3000 mAh battery and 2 GB internal memory that can be expanded through a micro SD card. It also has a VGA front facing camera for video calling.

In terms of specifications BSNL’s tablet has an edge over Aakash.
